Some humidifiers and electronic air filters use a sail switch to turn the humidifier or electronic air filter off and on. The sail switch can be wired and used on both 24 volt and 120 volt systems.

The Sail Switch can be used to turn on and off an electronic air filter, humidifier, or other equipment in response to air flow from the system fan.
The sail switch is mounted in the return air duct where the sail will be in the direct path of an unrestricted air stream.
When your furnace or air handler's blower comes on, the air flow inside the return air duct pulls the sail down and closes the circuit.

When the blower shuts off the spring loaded sail flips up and opens the circuit

Activates equipment that is energized when fan is operating

Designed for use in electric heating systems to prove minimum airflow

Allows wiring of equipment independently of blower motor
Senses vertical or horizontal airflow

Normally open contacts make at 250 FPM, break at 75 FPM; normally closed contacts make at 75 FPM, break at 250 FPM

Maximum ambient temperature: 125°F at switches, 170°F at sail
Dimensions: 2-5/16" H x 3-3/4" W x 2-1/8" D
